Faculty Research Grants
To promote humanities-focused scholarship at CMC, as well as to promote research collaboration between faculty and students, the Gould Center sponsors faculty research projects in the humanities that are pursued in partnership with a CMC student research assistant. Proposals, which are invited annually, are welcome from all CMC tenured/tenure-track faculty, no matter the department, so long as the proposed research project concerns issues central to humanistic inquiry. All CMC students, no matter the major or year, can serve as student research assistants on funded projects.
Applications for fall and yearlong projects are usually due early in the fall semester; applications for spring projects are usually due in December or early January; applications for summer projects are usually due at the end of April.
The Integrating Humanities Initiatives
Thanks to the generosity of President Chodosh, the Gould Center is supporting a number of faculty projects and initiatives in 2026-27 that increase the profile and promote the vitality of the humanities at CMC.
