2026-2027 Humanities Labs
Medicine and Moral Decision-Making
Professor Esther Chung-Kim
This humanities lab will cover key contemporary issues in modern medicine that have raised moral issues for the general public. Possible topics include: vaccine wars, concierge medicine, end of life costs, body-soul connection, AI therapists, and alternative medicines for cancer treatment. Since these medical topics have caused controversy, confusion, or ethical dilemmas for many people, students in this lab will examine multiple perspectives and then consider strategies to guide empathetic and realistic decision-making for complex health issues.
