Hi, I’m Nandini Patro, a sophomore at Claremont McKenna College. I’m from Los Angeles County, California and plan on majoring in Public Policy or PPE. I’ve always been a strong advocate of the intrinsic power of the humanities. Such a uniquely situated subject empowers us to examine accepted “truths” and critically think about not just what we understand but how we have come to know it and why. To me, the humanities hardly just preserves knowledge but also transforms it into a dialogue that lives and breathes, amenable to change, fostering empathy and new ways of understanding. Being a member of the Editorial Board has been a unique opportunity to continue to harness the power of the humanities in a tangible and effective way.
